It is still Early access, but I love it. This game is fun, challenging and offers a lot of exploration and discovery. I was first struck by its difficulty, but after the first couple levels, I got the hang of it, and it was more fun. Also, I like games that do not make things too easy, so there is a nice sense of accomplishment whn you actually beat a level. It looks like there are a few different branching story lines, so I hope to play through again and find some other stuff!If you like old-school graphics, and H.P. Lovecraft stories, this is the game for you! It's my second favorite Lovecraft inspired game, right after Dark Corners of the Earth.. This game is exactly what it says it is. A rougulike with RPG elements that blend into a run and gun, fun time. The mythos is a great overlay and I greatly appreciate the depth the team went into in order to faithfully portray Lovecrafts (and others) creatures. So far the only issues I have had early access is with the inventory and equipming items onto slots. Other than that the game has played incredibly smooth for me. If you love the mythos, don't pass this up.. hard as hell but really captures the lovecraft feel, and the randomly generated levels feel varied enough. Just need some balancing and better controls.the great old ones would be pleased.. This is easily one of the best games I have played in quite some time. It has a surprising amount of depth to it, with various mission objectives per chapter, secret rooms you can find and a few puzzles here and there. Combat is quick and straight-forward. Item management isn't a chore and the items are actually useful enough to not be a waste of space. Enemies are fairly simple, but are well in keeping with the Mythos. Your choices concerning weapons and items can make difficult battles, easy or vice versa. Story elements exist and while simple, are fairly engaging. The levels themselves are randomly generated per play-through, and feature an appropriate and satisfying aesthetic. The use of insanity in this game is one of the simplest I have yet seen, but also the most effective. I have not yet beaten the game, but it has made me want to see the game through. Mythos games aren't easy to make well. The very nature of the genre makes it difficult to translate into games. But Untold Stories does a really good job, considering what it is. I would actually say that it is a better, more engaging, and fun to play, Lovecraftian game than some considerably more expensive titles out there. If you are into Lovecraft with a bit of action, you should definitely give Untold Stories a shot.. I made almost an hour to touch my beer. This game is good.
